SYLACAUGA, Ala. - The Sylacauga men's and women's soccer teams have claimed the Class 5A, Area 7 titles after sweeping through area play.

The men's team recorded three key victories to lock up the title. Sylacauga defeated Valley, 2-1, on March 13, blanked Beauregard, 7-0, on March 18, and secured a 1-0 win over Valley in the title-clinching matchup on April 8.

The women's team also delivered a dominant stretch, shutting out Valley, 5-0, on March 13, cruising past Beauregard, 6-0, on March 18, and finishing with a 5-1 victory over Valley on April 8.

With the area titles secured, both teams now turn their attention to the postseason. The men's team will look to bounce back after a first-round playoff exit to Brewbaker Tech last season. The women's team is aiming for another deep run after reaching the Final Four last season, where they were eliminated by Gulf Shores.
